Anne of Green Gables

CHALLENGE: Choose a book in the public domain and design a new cover, as well as the interior layout, to appeal to modern readers.

SOLUTION: After conducting research on modern book covers in a local library and book store, I created an illustration for the cover of Anne of Green Gables featuring Anne and Diana. I wanted to keep a slightly rustic feel with the burlap texture behind the text and a soft, flowing typeface to reflect Anne's personality. I featured her iconic red braids in the illustration and the color palette. I also fully designed the interior to match the style of the cover.
